NAUGATUCK The Naugatuck YMCA’s preschool and early learning center received community support to provide child care for infants and toddlers.
The YMCA received $500 donations from the Fortney family and Thomas and Emily Saunders as well as a $6,000 donation from the Naugatuck Rotary Foundation to fund a room for infants.
The Connecticut Community Foundation gave the YMCA a $10,095 grant to finish work for a room for 1- and 2-year-old toddlers. The money was used to build the room and purchase supplies and equipment.
“This effort is a testament to the community’s support of the YMCA and we couldn’t be more thankful to all of those who helped make this a possibility,” said YMCA CEO Mark LaFortune in a news release. ....
