First In A Four Part Series On How Changes To Sioux City Diocese Reorganization Plan Will Impact Rural Churches

Carroll Broadcasting is bringing you a four-part series, diving into upcoming changes proposed as part of the Ministry 2025 Pastoral Plan of the Sioux City Diocese. First, we will go back to the introduction of the multi-year plan. In February 2016, the diocese announced major restructuring, reducing the number of parishes in the 24-county region from 108 to 67. Forty-one parishes would close or merge with others, leaving 31 clusters. All by 2025. At that time, the Director of Pastoral Planning was Father Brent Lingle. He explained why.
The lack of people, Lingle said at that time, was not solely on the clergy side. He cited statistics, from 2008 to 2015, representing a 27 percent decline in mass attendance. Holy Family Parish in Lidderdale and Holy Angels Parish in Roselle were the first to become “oratory,” what is now called merged worship sites. ....

Beaches Logistics has taken delivery of four DAF XF 530s

Beaches Logistics Carlisle has acquired four DAF XF 530 FT 4x2 Super Space Cabs.
Fitted with tracking units and camera systems, the 4x2 units are being used to assist haulage firm Modular Movements, which specialises in transporting modular buildings (prefabricated structures with repeated sections, typically constructed off-site) to the likes of schools, hospitals and offices.
The vehicles are fitted with DAF’s MX-13 engine, TraXon gearbox, Alcoa Dura Bright alloy wheels and skylights. They are managed by Hexagon leasing and include an R&M contract.
“We’ve already seen an improvement in our fuel economy with the units averaging between 9.5mpg and 10.5mpg, and some light loads up to 12mpg,” said Beaches’ commercial director Bryan Jones. ....

MJ Prosser's 13th Mercedes-Benz Atego joins its fleet

MJ Prosser has added a 13-tonne Mercedes Atego to its fleet – its 13th such model.
Supplied by Rygor Commercials, the 1324 L model includes a high-roofed BigSpace L-cab, 238hp 7.7-litre engine and rear air suspension.
It is bodied by Fred Smith and Sons and includes a double-bunk sleeper cab, air-conditioning, a night heater and 180- and 100-litre fuel tanks in place of the standard the 120-litre tank to increase its range.
The haulage firm’s rigid trucks are fitted with 8.5m long curtainside or platform bodies. The chassis are extended at the Mercedes-Benz Custom Tailored Trucks (CTT) plant in Molsheim, France, to accommodate the extra length. ....
