I think when we were recording [1999 s] Alchemy , he came to me and said, Man, I ve been taking voice lessons for eight years. What s wrong? What am I doing wrong? And I said, Well, Yngwie… His voice, it just doesn t sound good; it doesn t have a good sound; it doesn t have a pleasing sound. He can sing notes, but they don t sound pleasing. I didn t know what to tell him. But that s the fact. He tries really hard. ....
Yngwie Malmsteen s Trilogy album was my favorite, and I always thought the vocals and songs on that album were some of the best ever in heavy metal, says Leon. I wrote a song called Viral Insanity after COVID-19 hit, and one thing led to another and I was put in touch with Mark. I felt the song was perfect for his voice. We all tracked at home, and I sent him my demos and he nailed it. Will and James just kill the leads, and it was a fun quarantine collaboration for us to do with a musical icon and hero of ours. THE BIG DEAL, have signed with Frontiers Music. The band first came together when guitarist, composer, and producer Srdjan Brankovic and his wife Nevena Brankovic, who is an academic pianist and singer, met singer Ana Nikolic. Ana had spent the past few years fronting local bands, but after meeting Srdjan and Nevena, they started collaborating in the studio together. While working on some new ideas, Srdjan thought how interesting it would be to include Ana’s vocals in addition to Nevena’s in their recordings. After a couple of recordings were finished, they were overjoyed with the results and thus some of their first demos were born. These were the forerunners of the music that was presented to Frontiers and gained them a deal. The lineup for the band was then completed with the addition of drummer Marko Milojevic. ....
