"A giant miss" – CNN says Biden jobs report is a 'real disappointment', also predicts massive inflation – The Right Scoop

Today’s jobs report is out and it is not what economists were expecting – by a long shot:
According to CNN, they were expecting a surge in employment based on last month of close to a million jobs, but only netted 266k. Instead of the unemployment rate continuing to tick down, it went up by 1% to 6.1%.
They say this is the worst miss since 1998:

The U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 51 the bill providing admission into the United States of the state of Washington, Douglass Commonwealth, composed of most of the territory of the District of Columbia in a 216 to 208 vote Thursday afternoon.
Rather than prioritizing policies to address the
crisis challenge at our southern border, spiking violent crime, rising fuel and energy prices, or aggression from China and Russia, the we know best Democrats have cleared another hurdle in their latest push to give Washington, D.C., statehood.
Sure, those pushing DC statehood will make the supposedly noble case that Washingtonians deserve representation in Congress, but Democrats couldn t care less about taxation without representation. Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin said the quiet part out loud recently, stating, The Senate has become a major impediment to social progress for the country. ....

GOP Congressman Slams 'Democrat Political Power Grab' Ahead of DC Statehood Vote

Democrats in both chambers of Congress are advocating the implementation of statehood for the District of Columbia, via legislation. Republicans overwhelmingly oppose giving statehood to DC, arguing that the city does not merit representation by 2 United States Senators; both seats would undoubtedly be held by Democrats. Other Republicans, including a group of GOP Attorneys General, argue that granting statehood to DC legislatively is unconstitutional, while also pointing out that the Founding Fathers opposed statehood for the nation’s capital.
The House Rules Committee is set to take up HR 51, which would grant statehood to DC, once again this week. Republican Congressman James Comer (R-KY) criticized Congressional Democrats’ “power grab” in trying to pass the measure. ....

Earlier this month, U.S. Customs and Border Protection released astonishing data detailing the number of people who crossed into the United States illegally during March 2021.
In March 2021, CBP encountered more than 172,000 persons attempting entry along the Southwest border. This total represented a 71 percent increase over February 2021, CBP released in a statement earlier this month. This fiscal year CBP has already had over 569,800 encounters. This represents an increase of 24 percent from the total encounters we had during all of Fiscal Year 2020, when migration was limited by the COVID-19 pandemic, and an increase of over 34 percent from approximately the same time frame of Fiscal Year 2019. ....

Suicides Fell In 2020 While Anxiety, Depression, Overdoses Worsen

While suicides fell by 5 percent last year, rates of anxiety and depression surged, as did the number of overdose deaths throughout the coronavirus pandemic, which has spurred endless lockdowns and upended modern life for months on end.
According to provisional mortality data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics published in March, suicides fell from more than 47,500 in 2019 to less than 45,000 in 2020 beating out bleak predictions cast by alarming spikes in anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation.
In August, one in four young adults aged 18-24 reported seriously contemplating suicide within the prior 30 days, according to data from the CDC. Sixteen percent of those aged 25-44 reported the same. ....
