Blind vet Nancy was inspired by Sir Captain Tom Moore and completed 100 laps of the Brighton Centre garden on Wednesday A 99-YEAR-OLD blind veteran has completed a 100-lap walking challenge to raise money for charity. Nancy Bowstead, who lives in Brighton, completed the sponsored walk around the centre s garden in two hours on Wednesday and has raised more than £300 so far for Blind Veterans UK. She will turn 100 in September and said she was inspired by Sir Captain Tom Moore’s fundraising last year. She said: “He was a great inspiration and I hope that I can raise as much money as he did.”

Beloved son of the late Dick and Stella Twomey and loving brother of Estelle (O Donovan), Bernadette and the late Paul. Sadly, missed by his sisters, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, godchildren, brother-in-law Jerry, sister-in-law Dede, Bishop of Clifton, the Clergy and parishioners, relatives and his very good friends in Swindon. A Parish Requiem Mass will take place on July 7, 2021 at 7pm. A Requiem Mass presided over by Bishop Declan Lang will take place on July, 2021 at 11am. (Owing to Covid restrictions on numbers attending, a place will need to be booked)
