Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], February 2 (ANI): In wee hours of Monday amid chilly winter, Kalaroos Company Commander in Jammu and Kashmir s Kupwara district received a call from an Asha Worker requesting an immediate evacuation of a patient in labour pain.
The call requested a drop to the Kalaroos Hospital from Narikoot, as ambulances were unable to honour their request due to snowfall.
Immediately an Army vehicle, accompanied by a medical team, was sent to Narikoot to evacuate the patient.
En route to the Hospital, the Asha Worker Sadia Begum accompanying the patient requested the team to park the vehicle on the roadside as the patient s condition was serious. ....

Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], January 25 (ANI): Amidst freezing temperature and snow Jawans of the Indian Army posted in Jammu and Kashmir are geared up to celebrate the 72nd Republic Day with locals and children in Kupwara district s Handwara.
True to their motto, Service before self , the jawans cleared snow, decorated the memorial among other preparations.
We never let the weather affect our fervour for celebrating Republic Day and Independence day. New recruits are enthusiastic in preparations and have erected a stage for the cultural programmes for the day, Abhay Singh Yadav, a Jawan of the Indian Army told ANI. ....

Farooq Khasana s wife gave birth to a child yesterday in a hospital. After being discharged, the two were stuck there due to heavy snowfall, a relative of the family said.

Kupwara: The Indian Army on Saturday helped a woman reach her home, after she was stuck with her newborn child at a hospital in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir due to heavy snowfall.
The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said on Twitter that the soldiers carried the wife and newborn child of Farooq Khasana, who is a resident of the district s Dardpora, for 6 km in knee-deep snow and helped them to reach their home. ....
