(WFIE) - Big plans are being made for the old Henderson Armory on Elm Street. At Thursdayâs Rotary Club meeting, Mayor Steve Austin said the Cliff Hagan Boys and Girls Club Henderson Unit will eventually move into the armory. The club currently operates out of the Community Baptist Church. The move could provide a big expansion for the club. âWe have a daily capacity of 150 youth who can attend the club, now obviously with COVID â itâs a little bit different,â Ryan Bibb, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Club said. âBut thatâs our operating capacity at our current facility, but the armory would allow us to serve 300 youth capacity.â ....
Last year s festival like just about everything else was suspended due to the pandemic. The event is set for July 28-31 and features songwriters such as Don Sampson, who has written songs for Brad Paisley and Alan Jackson; Johnny Bulford, who has written songs for Lee Brice and Chris Young; Heidi Raye, who shared the stage with Reba McEntire, Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean; Tony Arata, who has written songs for Garth Brooks, Patty Loveless and Trisha Yearwood; Chris Gelbuda, who has written songs by Darius Rucker and Billy Currington; and Billy Crain, who has written songs for Martina McBride, and shared the stage with ZZ Top and The Rolling Stones. ....
