Hendrickson and Damjan to stay on FIS Athletes Commission despite retirements

Sarah Hendrickson of the United States and Jernej Damjan of Slovenia have called time on their competitive ski jumping careers but will remain on the International Ski Federation (FIS) Athletes Commission.
Hendrickson made history at Sochi 2014 when she became the first woman to jump in an Olympic ski jumping event.
The American’s career highlights also include winning the inaugural women’s FIS Ski Jumping World Cup overall title in 2012 and being crowned world champion in 2013.
But Hendrickson, who has overcome a series of injuries including serious knee ligament damage that required reconstructive surgery, has announced her retirement at the age of 26. ....

With these impressive results to celebrate, Guinness World Records presented Takanashi with her official GWR certificates on Friday 16 April.
Takanashi said that the fact she broke these records took a while to sink in but gradually did after many people congratulated her on them.

Germany’s Christian Ahlmann, the CHI Al Shaqab Grand Prix winner who captured major honours on the final day of the Commercial Bank CHI Al Shaqab Presented by Longines, receiving his trophy from Event Director and Organising Committee Member Omar Al Mannai. Ahlmann guided Dominator 2000 Z to a memorable victory at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab yesterday.

Germany’s Christian Ahlmann is considered a calm rider with soft hands.
That very combination was witnessed in ample proportion yesterday when the 47-year-old guided Dominator 2000 Z to CHI Al Shaqab Grand Prix win.
Producing a clean routine, Dominator 2000 Z clocked a time of 36.17 seconds in the jump-off of the 1.60m competition. ....
