BELLINGHAM, Wash. Demand is high but supply is low for COVID-19 vaccines in Whatcom County.
County Health Department Director Erika Lautenbach presided over an on-line town hall Thursday evening that exposed just how tight vaccine supplies are.
Lautenbach said the Health Department estimates 60,000 people in the county meet eligibility criteria.
Dr. Rodney Anderson with Family Care Network is among health care providers who took part and expressed frustration with the slow roll-out.
But answers about what local providers can expect were just as scarce as vaccine in Whatcom County.
Lautenbach restated that she’s penned a letter to the state secretary of health asking for more transparency in vaccine allocation.
