Special to the Times-News/CFRC Children & Family Resource Center has announced that Joel Johnson and Emily Balcken have accepted key leadership roles at the center. Johnson holds a master’s degree in mathematics education from Western Carolina University and a Post-Baccalaureate Certification in Financial Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Most recently, Johnson worked for Lake Logan Conference Center as the business manager and prior to that served as director of finance for Advantage Home and Community Care for over 15 years. Johnson will oversee all aspects of the Children and Family Resource Center’s financial management and administrative systems and will ensure they are in line with strategic goals. ....
