3 Jun 2021 Illegal boat migrants have threatened “mob unrest” if the British government does not speed up their settlement into taxpayer-funded accommodation, the union for the country’s Border Force has revealed. Amid record waves of illegal aliens flooding over the English Channel in small boats from France, Britain’s Border Force has become “overwhelmed” by the “phenomenal” numbers, ISU immigration union representative Lucy Moreton said. As over 560 migrants landed on British soil in four days, the Border Force was forced into abandoning coronavirus testing measures and had to transfer them into detention centres in order to prevent large gatherings, Moreton told ....
31 May 2021 Over 400 illegal boat migrants landed in the space of 24 hours as a protest was held in Dover against the growing migration crisis in the English Channel. On Saturday, some 144 migrants were recorded landing on British soil, following 336 landing on Friday, according to BBC reporter Simon Jones. While migrants were being escorted by the British Border force through the Port of Dover, where they were brought ashore to be processed by immigration officials, police made four arrests of anti-immigration activists during a protest in the English coastal town. Protesters staged a sit-in on Snargate Street, blocking off the road for at least an hour, waving flags, carrying banners reading “Stop the Invasion”, and chanting “enough is enough”. ....
11 May 2021 It is eleven years since the Conservatives took power (originally in coalition with the Liberal Democrats) after fighting an election campaign in which one of their most prominent promises was to reduce net migration to the level it was in the 1990s “from the hundreds of thousands to the tens of thousands.” The context then was that the United Kingdom had been blindsided by a left-wing policy of mass immigration devised by New Labour. A policy that had led to escalating immigration levels and rapid population growth on a scale not seen before (in an already densely populated country) and which placed huge strains on services, infrastructure and on less well-off communities. ....
