What is the poet’s role in history? For a historian of Britain like myself, this question calls to mind the work of EP Thompson, who read the history of the English working class with one eye on the Romantic poets who sensitively captured the social and cultural transformations of the revolutionary late 18th century.

LAHORE : National History Museum, Lahore, has two more new and exciting exhibitions curated by The Citizens Archive of Pakistan.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar inaugurated the exhibitions. The governor was received by Jahanzeb Awan, CAP board member, and Yasir Gillani, Parks and Horticulture Authority.
While speaking to the media, the Punjab governor said “I am delighted to know that more than 35,000 students have visited this museum so far. I am particularly touched by this visit because my own family had migrated to Pakistan and my parents used to tell me about all the sacrifices they rendered. I can spend a whole day here and I wish to come here again, silently and without media, to enjoy learning about our history.” ....

LAHORE:The three-day Children’s Literature Festival (CLF), a nationwide movement and flagship programme of civil society organisation Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA), started hybrid to hold the first Pakistan Learning Festival (PLF) to promote learning during the pandemic on Monday.
The multi-site, multi-lingual and multi-cultural festival, being held in collaboration with British Council Pakistan, Children Library Complex (CLC), Oxford University Press (OUP) Pakistan, Room to Read and National History Museum (NHM), kicked off with a number of interactive sessions and activities taking place simultaneously at three locations – CLC and NHM in Lahore, and OUP Bookstore Park Towers in Karachi – where a few students and teachers were present on site while mostly attended it online from across Pakistan and beyond. ....

LAHORE:Quaid-e-Azam was the perfect example of Iqbal s Mard-e-Momin and Rumi s Mard-e-Kamil. This was stated by Senator Waleed Iqbal while addressing an event on Quaid-e-Azam Day organised by Aiwan-e-Iqbal and Iqbal Academy Pakistan. Iqbal Academy Pakistan Vice-President Dr Shahzad Qaiser, Director Prof Dr Baseera Ambreen, Anjum Waheed, administrator Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Nuzhat Akbar regional director, National Book Foundation, Brigadier (retd) Wajahat Hussain Sahi, director, Numl University and Haroon Akram Gill were also present.
Waleed Iqbal said Quaid-e-Azam changed the course of time, history and nation. Prof Dr Baseera Ambreen said “Both Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal are our focus and centre. According to Allama Iqbal, Quaid-e-Azam was a perfect leader and Allama considered himself a lowly soldier of Quaid-e-Azam.” Dr Shehzad Qaiser, Anjum Waheed, Nuzhat Akbar and Brigadier (retd) Wajahat Hussain Sahi also spoke ....
