Attorney-general and Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum held a virtual consultation with representatives of civil society organisations (CSOs) yesterday.
The forum included members from the Fiji Council of Social Services, LifeFlight Fiji, Empower Pacific, femLINKpacific, Rainbow Pride, Asia Pacific Forum on Families International, Fiji Women’s Rights Movement, Citizens Constitutional Forum, Reproductive Health Association of Fiji, Foundation for the Education of Needy Children and Save the Children Fund.

The Social Democratic Liberal Party Lami Constituency is outrageous that government did not send advisories out that consultation on the draft Police Bill has been retracted.
The constituency found that consultation on the draft Police Bill was retracted after arriving in Navua and being advised by a staff of the Ministry of Defense.
Some organisations like the Citizens Constitutional Forum, youth, and members of the public were sent back disappointed after traveling to Navua to voice their concerns.
“There was no official notice from the Ministry of Defense to tell us that consultation has been cancelled,” says pro-democracy advocate Pita Waqavonovono. ....
