KUALA TERENGGANU: Three Vietnamese enforcement vessels had tried to prevent the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) from detaining three fishing boats that had encroached into Malaysian waters.
MMEA Terengganu director Kapt Muhammad Suffi Ramli said the teams from the Vietnam Fisheries Resources Surveillance and Vietnam Coast Guard had encroached into Malaysian waters last Thursday to prevent KM Gemia from detaining the three fishing boats on suspicion of trespassing and stealing sea produce.
“At 119 to 120 nautical miles northeast of Kuala Terengganu, three of these enforcement vessels surrounded the KM Gemia detention boat and asked that the three fishing boats be released. ....

KUALA TERENGGANU (May 3): The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) of Terengganu chased away three Vietnamese enforcement vessels that tried to prevent the MMEA from detaining three fishing boats that encroached into Malaysian waters last Thursday.

Five Vietnamese fishermen and vessel held near Mantanani island, Sabah


KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has impounded a foreign vessel carrying five Vietnamese fishermen about 17.1 nautical miles from Mantanani island, off Kota Belud on the north-western coast of the state.
Sabah and Labuan Maritime director First Admiral Datuk Mohd Rosli Abdullah said the boat and the crew members, aged between 17 and 40, have been brought to Sepanggar Maritime Jetty for further investigation after the incident on Wednesday (April 14) morning.
In a statement here on Thursday (April 15), First Admiral Mohd Rosli said the capture was following a strategic framework designed under Op Naga Timur and Op Kuda Laut aimed at curbing foreign vessels encroaching on Sabah s waters. ....
