Police launch crackdown on gamblers amid PSL matches
CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar says police will also request PTA and FIA to block apps being used for betting
LAHORE:
The Lahore police have launched an intelligence-based crackdown to curb gambling during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) cricket matches.
According to Lahore CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, the police have compiled a list of suspected gamblers and senior police officials including SPs, DPOs, SHOs and CIA police have been directed to detain them.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, he said the list included bookmakers who had been involved in cases of betting as well as those against whom public complaints had been received.

LAHORE:
As many as 6,000 police officials will be deployed to maintain law and order at New Year eve under the security plan devised during a high-level meeting chaired by DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan.
SP Operations Lahore Ahsan Saifullah, SP Security Sardar Mavarhan Khan, SP Dolphin Squad Rashid Hadayat, SP City Traffic Wasim Dar, DSP Legal, all divisional SPs and other related officers attended the meeting.
