294 MNS officers manning DRDO’s Covid hospitals at multiple locations New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) The Defence Ministry on Wednesday said that a total of 294 Nursing Officers of Military Nursing Service (MNS) have been manning the Covid19 hospitals set up by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) at Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Varanasi and Patna. Besides these, they have also been taking care of Armed Forces hospitals to provide medical care to the COVID-19 patients. “Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Nursing officers of MNS have been serving the nation with loyalty and courage. They played a vital role in various repatriation missions as part of Operation Namaste and Operation Samudra Setu”, the Ministry added. ....
Vaccine crisis in India: BJP justifies export New Delhi Accusing the Congress and other parties spreading the politically-motivated lies on the Covid-19 vaccines, the BJP on Wednesday defended supply of 6.5 crore vaccine doses to the foreign countries, pointing out that only 16% of the doses â 1.07 crore â were supplied abroad as aid to foreign countries and that include 78.5 lakh doses to 7 neighbours. Its national spokesman Dr Sambit Patra said coronavirus does not respect any borders and it was necessary to help the neighbours with the vaccines to ensure the disease does not spread in India from them. Under the same aid category, 2 lakh vaccine doses were given to the UN Peace Keeping Force where some 6,600 Indians are engaged for establishing peace in various countries. ....
