Drug charges at Eton
Mackay police have charged a man with drug offences following the search of an Eton property.
Detectives from Mackay District Tactical Operations carried out the search of the Kinchant Dam Road address yesterday, where it will be alleged a quantity of dangerous drugs including methylamphetamine, cocaine and cannabis along with drug paraphernalia was located.
It will be further alleged police were forced to chase a man, who tried to flee the scene as the warrant was being carried out.
He was arrested moments later in nearby bushland.
A 44-year-old Kinchant Dam man has since been charged with 11 offences including one count of trafficking (methylamphetamine).

UPDATE 3.30PM: Mackay police are warning drug traffickers they are fooling themselves if they think hiding out in a rural area is a âsafe havenâ.
Speaking about the drug raid at an Eton home on Wednesday, Mackay CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Jack Savage said police found 10.77g of methamphetamine, 182g of marijuana and 0.4g of cocaine, $540 in cash, nun chucks and an antipersonnel spray.
Police charged a 44-year-old Kinchant Dam man with 11 drug-related offences after chasing him through multiple neighboring properties including darting between a barb-wired fence.
Sergeant Savage said the Kinchant Dam Rd raid would likely lead to more arrests and charges.
