Akib Hridoy, a local journalist of Ananda TV from Kishoreganj, was granted bail for six months by the High Court today, 42 days after he was arrested under the Digital Security Act.
The HC bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Kazi Md Ejarul Haque Akondo today granted the bail after hearing a bail petition submitted by Akib s lawyer.
The state will not appeal against the HC order, Deputy Attorney General Md Aminul Islam told The Daily Star.
Akib (28) was arrested on December 28 last year in a case filed by the then Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner Md Sarwar Murshed Chowdhury at Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station. ....
