MORE THAN 50 ACRES BURNED IN FANNETT TOWNSHIP, FRANKLIN COUNTY. Allegheny County Game Warden Zeb Campbell reports an archery hunter was hunting white-tailed deer during the closed season between the regular firearms season and late deer season. The Dauphin County Commissioners recently awarded $6.1 million to municipalities, schools and organizations in the county.
The funds are from the gaming dollars from Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in East Hanover Township and available through the casino local share revenue program.
The Dauphin County Gaming Advisory Board presented recommendations to the commissioners for recipients of funding. Those recommendations were made following application and hearing processes. The Gaming Advisory Board said it considered and prioritized public interest, emergency and human services, transportation, and infrastructure ....

Pennsylvania State Police public information officer Trooper Megan Ammerman said the southbound lanes of the highway are closed at mile marker 78.4 in East Hanover Township, and traffic is being detoured off of Exit 80 to Grantville.
State troopers were already on the scene investigating a crash when another vehicle hit the vehicles involved in the original crash, Ammerman said. A person was struck and is suffering a major injury, she said. The investigating trooper and another driver had to dive out of the way to avoid being struck. ....
