YOUNGSTOWN A Warren woman has been indicted, accused of driving the vehicle in a drive-by shooting on East Avondale Avenue March 31 that struck a 13-year-old girl in the leg while in bed. Jana M. Cox, 25, of York Avenue, was indicted Thursday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises, improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation or a school safety zone, felonious assault and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle. Some of the charges also carry gun specifications that could add extra time to her sentence if she is convicted. The victim in the 2 a.m. shooting is expected to recover, Youngstown police Chief Carl Davis has said. ....
SEBRING A village man is facing a number of obscenity charges after police served a warrant Wednesday. Cameron Schmid, 18, of East Oregon Avenue, was released from the Mahoning County Jail on a $20,000 bond, jail records show. He is facing 20 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, all fourth-degree felonies. Sebring police were unable to provide further details. Mar 11, 2021 SEBRING – An 18-year-old Sebring resident is facing several obscenity charges after police say they found child pornography in his home. Cameron Scmid, East Oregon Avenue, has been charged with 20 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, a fourth-degree felony after Sebring police seized items from his home in September and turned them over to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation for analysis, according to news partner WKBN-TV. Sebring police were alerted by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Schmid was taken to the Mahoning County Jail. His bond was set at $80,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in Sebring court. ....
