Federation of Ontario Cottage Associations Throwing Support Behind Improved Internet Infrastructure

The Federation of Ontario Cottage Associations is asking its members to help it support the Eastern Ontario Regional Network’s Gig Project.
The Project aims to deliver broadband internet access to rural areas, with the goal of delivering 1 gigabyte a second upload and download speeds to residents. FOCA says they recognize how slow internet speeds affect their associations and are asking each of them to write letters of support for the project. They want to direct these letters to the Federal Minister of Rural Economic Development Maryam Monsef and the Ontario Minister of Infrastructure Laurie Scott. ....

Renfrew County Warden Debbie Robinson acclaimed as chairwoman of the Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus

County of Renfrew Warden Debbie Robinson has been acclaimed as the 2021 chairwoman of the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (EOWC).
The announcement comes out of the EOWC’s annual inaugural meeting held last week at which Liz Danielsen, Warden of the County of Haliburton and Deputy Mayor of the Township of Algonquin Highlands, was appointed as vice-chairwoman, also by acclamation. Robinson is also the reeve of the Township of Laurentian Valley.
