Drug warrant results in multiple charges

Article content On Tuesday, July 20, shortly after 3:30 a.m., members from the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the North East Region Sault Ste. Marie Canine Unit and members from the East Algoma Detachment of the OPP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Old Highway 17 within the Territory of Mississauga First Nation. A search of the residence led to the seizure of one loaded 9-mm handgun and 17 long guns, suspected: cocaine, green and purple fentanyl, crack cocaine, Percocet pills, $4,400 in Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia. The value of drugs seized is believed to be approximately over $10,500.
