In a message to parents and students, Principal Sheila Riffle said the majority of seniors who attended a recent class meeting identified prom as the one event, other than graduation, that they wanted to be held before leaving high school. “We are writing to let you know that we are still awaiting state guidance on proms and other end-of-school year events,” she said.

But the Class of 2021 will not face the same fate. Valley Regional High School will hold an in-person graduation ceremony on June 9. Restrictions will still be in place, but they will be reduced, according to Brian White, superintendent of Regional School District 4.
