MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio ― Shontel Brown, a Cuyahoga County councilwoman, defeated Nina Turner in the special primary election for Ohio’s 11th Congressional District, all but ensuring that she will represent the Cleveland-area seat in Congress.
Brown’s victory is a major win for leaders of the moderate Democratic establishment, who backed her, and a stinging defeat for a progressive movement that counted Turner, a former Ohio state senator-turned-Bernie Sanders lieutenant, as one of its most beloved stars.
Turner conceded the race on Tuesday night before all the results came in, but she was trailing Brown by a large enough margin that she and her team believed she did not have a path to victory. ....

Cleosene Johnson has attended Affinity Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland’s Lee-Miles neighborhood since 1976. And on a windy morning in late March, she went there to get her second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Johnson, 72, had a hard time getting registered for a shot back in February, she said, when vaccines were scarce in Ohio and most other locations in the U.S. When she heard her church was offering the vaccine, she was excited.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A Cleveland grandmother is asking for the publicâs help locating her missing 18-year-old grandson.
Deonte Boneapart was last seen on Friday around 6 p.m. at his home in Clevelandâs Lee-Harvard neighborhood, according to his grandmother Sheryl Foster.
Boneapart is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He has dark brown hair and gray eyes. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a black jacket, a yellow shirt, and white Air Max tennis shoes. ....
