Scott Carroll
Name it, and Scott Carroll has seen it.
Inside or outside of the school hallways, Cleveland Middle School s assistant principal and director of athletics has encountered virtually every experience – from daily to extraordinary – across a decorated career spent serving in public education.
Like Cleveland High School s varsity football games, of which Carroll has missed only two since the school s inception in 1966, Carroll keeps coming back for more experiences, more opportunities to help impact the lives of young people.
For these reasons and myriad others, Carroll is the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association s final Distinguished Service Award recipient for the 2020-21 academic year.

Navajo Prep’s girls repeated, Gallup’s girls were back on top for the first time in a decade, Hot Springs’ boys and Pecos’ girls both won for the second time in three years.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. In some ways, Monday started like a typical school day. Parents at Cleveland Middle School ushered children out of the cars and other students shuffled off the bus as the assistant principal greeted everyone with a wave and presumably a smile under her face mask.
But Monday marked something bigger than a typical school day. It was the first time all Albuquerque Public Schools students who want in-person learning were able to come back to campus full time since last school year.
