NJ wife of celebrity scammer charged in kidnapping of critic
The 21-year-old wife of an Instagram personality in North Jersey has been accused of taking part in a kidnapping scheme involving one of her husband’s critics.
Joumana Danoun, of Paterson, was charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, witness tampering and bribery, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced.
Danoun’s husband, Jebara Igbara, also known on social media as “Jay Manzini,” was arrested and charged with kidnapping and related offenses this past spring along with several other people.
The victim was physically assaulted, threatened with a machete and whipped with a cord-like object, Musella said.

CLIFTON A 81-year-old resident was pronounced dead early Sunday morning after being struck by a car on Hazel Street.
At approximately 8:22 a.m., police responded to a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a motor vehicle, according to a press release from Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.
Marinus Lalumia was crossing Hazel Street near the intersection with Van Orden Place when he was hit by a 2017 Honda HR-V that was being driven by a 21-year-old Paterson resident. Lalumia was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges have been filed at this time, but an investigation is ongoing, said the prosecutor’s office and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi in the statement.

An 81-year-old Clifton resident was struck and killed Sunday morning a few doors down from his home.
Marinus Lalumia, of Van Orden Place, was pronounced at the scene after a 2017 Honda HR-V driven by a 21-year-old Paterson man struck him as he crossed Hazel Street across from the Daughters of Miriam Center shortly before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, authorities said.
No charges were immediately filed, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi said in a brief release.
They noted, however, that an investigation was continuing.
