A request to rezone 1.44 acres of unplatted land located near the intersection of Sheridan Avenue and Avoca Avenue from R-3 Residence District to M-1 Industrial District was approved on first reading Monday night by the Sheridan City Council. Prior to the Council’s approval of the ordinance, Sheridan resident Mark Reid, who lives in the area of the proposed rezone, voiced his disapproval of the rezone and said it conflicts with what’s in the Sheridan Land Use Plan that was adopted by the Council in 2017. Mark Reid Two Councilors, Kristen Jennings and Clint Beaver, voted against the ordinance. Councilman Beaver shared his thoughts on why he opposes the rezone. ....
Following a six-week long test in 2019 of a three-lane configuration on Main Street in downtown Sheridan that yielded positive results from the public, the City and WYDOT transformed Main Street last October from its traditional four lane traffic pattern to three lanes.
