HUNDREDS of homeless people in Glasgow have been given their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine as part of an outreach programme. Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership is carrying out the operation to help reach people whose lifestyles would have hindered attendance at vaccination centres. Teams of nurses have been visiting temporary accommodation and support services to provide the injections against Covid-19. Nearly 550 people have been vaccinated in almost 50 locations across the city, including the Homeless Services centre in Hunter Street, the Homeless Hub in Argyle Street, hotels and other accommodation. Homeless Services leader Jim McBride said: “It’s important that homeless people get access to Covid-19 vaccinations for their own protection and that of the wider community. ....
Topics Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership is planning to use OLM’s cloud based Eclipse platform as part of its digital transformation. CGI, the IT services provider for Glasgow City Council, has invested in the software to provide a single database for health and social care. The partners are planning to streamline the relevant processes using OLM’s best practice forms and procedures and amending the features to local practices. CGI said that Eclipse is the only software to meet the Scottish Government’s ‘cloud first’ agenda and the Scottish Digital Health and Care Strategy on cloud. Simon Wearing, chief officer for finance and resources at the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “A single cloud platform covering case management, citizen engagement, finance and commissioning will be more convenient and efficient. ....

Scott Docherty, from Glasgow, was just 32 when he passed away on January 7. He is survived by his sons Layton, 7, and Jaxon, 4.
