Invicta on AXS TV: Rodriguez vs Torquato Preview

May 17, 2021 Invicta Fighting Championships has been around for just over nine years now. The popular all-women’s promotion has seen a number of broadcast outlets over that time. Its early shows were at times hampered by the amount of demand for the content exceeding the capabilities of the streaming service the company chose. That finally changed when Invicta joined forces with UFC Fight Pass. Now, for the first time since Invicta FC 8, the organization has a new broadcast home. Invicta, which was recently acquired by Anthem Sports & Entertainment Inc. will now air its shows on Anthem-owned AXS TV. It’s the dawn of a new era.

Women s MMA Weekend Preview: PFL 2021 3

This week’s Professional Fighters League card, PFL 2021 3, gives us five fights as the company kicks off its women’s lightweight tournament. There are several fights I am looking forward to watching, so I decided to use this week’s preview to take a look at those contests. We’ll look at 2019 PFl champ Kayla Harrison’s match-up with Mariana Morais, the veteran clash between Cindy Dandois and Kaitlin Young, and Helena Kolesnyk’s fight with Taylor Guardado. In addition to these three bouts, the PFL will also host 2019 runner-up Larissa Pacheco’s fight with Julija Pajić and Genah Fabian’s clash with Laura Sanchez.

Invicta FC launches on AXS TV with two title fights

Invicta FC was recently purchased by Anthem Sports & Entertainment Inc, a globally integrated media company creating content for passionate communities, whose properties include AXS TV, Fight Network, IMPACT Wrestling, and Game+ among others. Part of the deal includes Invicta FC moving its event broadcasts to AXS TV, the first of which will be Invicta FC 44 (aka Invicta FC on AXS TV). Invicta FC KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The fight card for  Invicta on AXS TV has been finalized. The event  which takes place Friday, May 21 in Kansas City will feature a pair of title fights in the flyweight and atomweight divisions. In the headliner, Mexico’s Karina Rodriguez (8-4) faces off with Brazilian Daiana Torquato (10-3) for the vacant 125-pound title. Rodriguez is no stranger to the spotlight, having gone the distance with former champion Vanessa Porto and defeating UFC veterans DeAnna Bennett and Milana Dudieva inside the Invicta cage. Torquato rides a six-fight winning streak

Women s MMA Weekend Review: Edwards and Melo Victorious

UFC on ABC 1 delivered with a fun card and some really good match-ups. The lineup included two female bouts, one between Sarah Moras and Vanessa Melo and another that pitted Yanan Wu against Joselyne Edwards. I also previewed Claire Guthrie’s fight against Nadine Mandiau, but I was unable to watch that Legacy Fighting Alliance contest due to work and have yet to see it. From what I understand, it was all Guthrie as she cruised to a decision win. After my review of the UFC on ABC 1 fights, I will give a brief synopsis of the midweek UFC on ESPN 20 card’s female fights. It won’t be my normal extended preview, but it’s a little something extra.
