According to the Greensboro Police Department Odis Alexiou, 71, of Greensboro, was driving on Battleground Avenue at 10:37 a.m. when he crossed the left of center and struck a Honda CR-V traveling the other direction. Police said the passenger in the Honda CR-V, Joseph Edwards, of Eden, died from injuries sustained in the collision. The driver was not hurt, police said.Alexiou was charged with driving left of center and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Police said investigators did not suspect impairment or speed as factors in the crash.A section of Battleground Avenue was closed in Greensboro Saturday while police investigated the crash.Police responded to the 2100 block of Battleground Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. ....

Police said the shots were fired from the intersection and a nearby residence. During the investigation, police said officers on the scene were notified someone had arrived at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds.
