STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Two more borough residents have succumbed to the coronavirus (COVID-19), while 72 new confirmed cases of the disease were recorded here, city Health Department data show.
At the same time, Staten Island’s coronavirus (COVID-19) hospitalization total continued to drop, with six fewer patients being treated at the borough’s hospitals.
As of 1 p.m. Saturday, 1,796 Staten Islanders are believed to have died from complications related to the coronavirus, according to the most recent data available. ....

At the same time, Staten Island’s coronavirus hospitalization total continued to dip even lower.
As of 1 p.m. Thursday, 1,789 Staten Islanders are believed to have died from complications related to the coronavirus, according to the most recent data available.
In addition, 208 fatalities were in the “probable” category, which has not changed since April 29.
A death is classified as “probable” if the decedent was a city resident who had no known positive laboratory test for the coronavirus, but the death certificate lists “COVID-19” or an equivalent as a cause of death. ....

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Coronavirus (COVID-19) hospitalizations in the borough plunged yet again on Tuesday to a new low this year, after a brief one-day upswing.
At the same time, two more residents have succumbed to the disease, while 70 new confirmed coronavirus cases were added to Staten Island’s tally, city Health Department data shows.
As of Tuesday afternoon, 72 coronavirus in-patients were being treated in the borough’s two hospital systems. That number was down 13 from Monday’s tally of 85. ....

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. With a sharp 24-hour decline, coronavirus (COVID-19) hospitalizations in the borough dropped to its lowest level so far this year.
At the same time, the disease has claimed the life of another Staten Islander, and nearly 190 more confirmed coronavirus cases were added to the borough’s total, city Health Department data shows. ....
