Sheridan Commission Approves Board Selections – Sheridan Media

Luke Sander was approved to a 3-year term on the Travel and Tourism Board. Two 3-year terms on the Parks and Recreation Board were filled by Lynn Custis and Seth Ulvestad. Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board had two open seats for 5-year terms that were filled by Ron Mischke and Jenifer Shassetz. The commission approved Johns Seely and Dave Wills to 3-year terms on the Planning and Zoning Commission. Two open seats for 3-year terms on the Historic Preservation Commission were filled by Carrie Edinger and Christina Haworth. And finally the Fulmer Library Board’s 2 seats for 3-year terms were filled by Angela Knutson and Maureen Olson.

The Chamber’s David Schwend welcomed those attending digitally and had this to say… This year’s winners were… The hub on Smith for the Key Service Award that honors a Chamber member non-profit organization that has made a significant impact in Sheridan County. Sheridan Commercial was chosen for the Strength of Sheridan Award honoring a Chamber member business or organization that has a distinguished tenure of 20 or more years in the community. Erin Kilbride was recognized for the Spirit of Sheridan Award as an individual who volunteers countless hours for the betterment of the Chamber and our local area.

The Sheridan Chamber Annual Awards of Excellence to be held Feb 10 – Sheridan Media

The Sheridan County Chamber Of Commerce will hold it’s Chamber Virtual Program this week and feature the Chamber Annual Awards of Excellence.  The Chamber Virtual Program will be held via ZOOM Wed. Feb. 10, beginning at 11:30am until 12:30pm. This months’ program will feature the Chamber Annual Awards of Excellence. Chamber CEO Dixie Johnson appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse and told listeners about the awards that honor both people and businesses for their hard work and dedication to the Sheridan County community.  D. Anne Strome

Sunday, January 17, 2021 Mrs. Anne Strome, of Burkburnett, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Mineral Wells, Texas. Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Burkburnett, Texas with the Reverend Christina Haworth officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, Texas, under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.  Mrs. Strome was born May 15, 1935 in Iowa Park, Texas, to the late Lloyd D. Lowe and Betty L. (Flippen) Lowe. She was a graduate of Iowa Park High School. She attended Midwestern University on a music/percussion scholarship and was a member of the Midwestern Band, which was at that time the official band of the Governor of Texas. Mrs. Strome graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business education and a minor in English. At Midwestern, she was a member of Tau Beta Sigma, honorary band sorority. She was also a staff writer for the university newspaper and campus litera
