Charity softball tournament helps Gatlinburg officer who lost a daughter and father-in-law in a house fire

On Saturday, the community played its part to raise money for Officer Frederick and his family during a benefit concert.
It s very raw for them still, you know they re having a hard time moving forward the most unimaginable lost you can even think about, family friend Christina Ferrell said. Community holds benefit concert for Gatlinburg officer who lost his daughter and father-in-law in a May fire

The community is helping one family after a fire destroyed their home and killed two loved ones.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn Family, friends and the community came together in support of a Gatlinburg police officer who lost his daughter and father-in-law after a deadly house fire in May.
A benefit concert took place Saturday night with all proceeds going to the officer s family.
We are really just trying to help them get back on their feet, Christina Ferell, a family friend, said.
The community is playing its part in helping a neighbor pick up the pieces of their lives. ....
