Pastor: Kevin Cavanaugh Nominated by: Carmen Dela Fuente Pastor Kevin is very welcoming. Being an immigrant, I had a hard time looking for a church to attend to. Praise God with a picture shared on FB from one of my sister’s friends who attended their service and introduced me to Cedar Grove Church, and that was back in 2017. The first Sunday I attended the service, I was welcomed by Pastor Kevin with others attending the service that morning. The first thing I have noticed is his very welcoming spirit. I felt so blessed with his preaching as well. He even reached out through email after to follow up which helped me a lot as I have been praying to God to lead me on my spiritual journey here in Canada. ....

by SPIRIT 105.3 // Mar 15, 2021 4:00 PM Mrs. Rawlins has gone above and beyond to teach her Highly Capable 3rd grade class this year, entirely remotely. She has the patience of a saint to lead this group of kids through remote learning, teaching them more difficult vocabulary, higher level math, and to ensure they are excited about school. She’s brought in an interesting podcast, talked thoroughly with the class about having a growth mindset, and even took them on a virtual field trip to the San Diego Zoo. On top of keeping her kids engaged in remote learning (which is tough as it is), she has also been working through caring for, and ultimately taking in an aging parent to live with her. She is working through all the required paperwork, caring for her mother, and teaching remotely in a pandemic. ....
