Dive Brief: A federal rule intended to lower barriers to distributed energy resources (DER) in wholesale markets still faces many questions about what DER aggregates will look like, how the new parties will interact with existing grid management, and what individual state roles might be. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission s Order 2222 doesn t limit participation in aggregating programs to particular business models and companies, speakers noted at a virtual session hosted last week by free market think-tank R Street Institute. Unlike FERC’s landmark demand response rule, Order 2222 did not include a broad opt-out provision for states. However, the order did include a minor exemption for smaller utilities that distributed 4 million MWhs or less in the previous fiscal year. While RTOs and ISOs have largely been tasked with crafting their own rules to comply with the rule, Villarreal maintained that state regulators also have a crucial role to play given that the order requires grid operators to work with states to agree on the data requirements necessary for DER aggregations to safely participate in wholesale markets. ....

She was the fourth out of six siblings and a beloved sister to Pete, Lilly, Orlando, Chris, and Kenny. She grew up and lived her life here in New Braunfels, attending Canyon High School and graduated in 1984. She went on to work at Granzins BBQ, a local bail bonds company, and as a dedicated and loyal Court Administrator at Comal County for 20+ years. She was a dedicated employee and loved the job she did. The District Court Employees and everyone who worked alongside her in the county were like her second family. She not only made sure her job was done but made sure that she took care of everyone by making sure the âcoffee was readyâ or by âmaking tacosâ ....
