A 5-year-old who had wandered out of his home in freezing temperatures wearing just his pajamas was saved by a Department of Natural Resources officer who found the child face down in the snow. DNR Officer Chris Vinton assisted the Perham Police Department in looking for the child who walked outside, the DNR District 2 - Bemidji Area weekly report said. “I just happened to be in the right place at the right time,” Vinton said in a phone interview. He said he happened to be in Perham on Jan. 26 when the call came in and went to assist in the search. ....
