AUGUSTA When the Maine House of Representative convened March 30 at the Augusta Civic Center, State Representative Bill Pluecker, I-Warren, spoke on the House Floor to highlight the heroic action of Maine State Prison corrections officers and staff. “While the day was overshadowed by political party divisiveness surrounding the passage of the upcoming two-year budget, Representative Pluecker found it imperative to highlight the courageous actions of Mainers who work in a dangerous environment due to the COVID-19 health pandemic to help protect the well-being of residents of the state prison system,” a news release. Pluecker was notified of the incident that occurred December 21 by Sergeant Curtiss Doyle and Commissioner Randall Liberty when a resident at the State Prison was found to be unresponsive.
