Col Hassan Stan-Labo is a veteran and retired officer with a wealth of combat operational experience spanning his duty tour of Liberia, Sierra Leone, The West Darfur and Bakassi Peninsula as part of the Army’s Elite Infantry (Special Forces) Corps. Now a security consultant, defence strategist, resource fellow and Convener, ‘FIX NIGERIA NOW!’, Stan-Labo speaks on the replacement of Service Chiefs.
Presidential spokesman Femi Adesina described the exit of the former Service Chiefs as timely, contrary to the views in many circles that it was long overdue considering the level of insecurity in the country. COVID-19: Iwu restates efficacy of herbal medicine treatment

Bioresources Development Group (BDG) chairman, Prof. Maurice Iwu has restated the efficacy of herbal medicine in the treatment of the COVID-19 cases as the virus enters variant stage globally.
The former chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and eminent Professor of Pharmacognosy, Iwu, in a chat with Vanguard said that the effectiveness of special herbal drugs produced in the country, stands the chance of combating the disease at an early stage, but noted that the slow pace in acceptance and approval hinders its feasibility.
Iwu also pointed that herbal extracts from a plant, “Andrographis Paniculata”, commonly known as green chiretta, already approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Thailand is on its way to serve as an alternative treatment to the severity of the ailment. ....

In the second part of his interview with Sunday Vanguard, Colonel Hassan Stan-Labo (rtd), a former Chief of Staff, 9 Brigade, Nigeria Army, Ikeja, says he is not surprised about the insecurity in Nigeria as, according to him, millions of arms/weapons are in wrong hands.

Sunday Vanguard was guest at the processing facility of Bioresources Institute of Nigeria (BION), manufacturers of INTERCEDD HEALTH PRODUCT (IHP), at Umuna, Okigwe, Imo State which says its herbal drug is potential cure for COVID-19.
Bioresources Development Group (BDG), which houses other centers, was founded by Professor Maurice Iwu, a former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The factory was commissioned in 2016 and has, since inception, been producing health boosting herbal products. Production and Facility Manager, Emmanuel Obasi, who took Vanguard correspondent round the facility, spoke about the impact of the production unit towards the discovery of drugs for the treatment of COVID-19 among other things.
