Poll: Roughly 1/3 Of AZ Republicans Have Favorable View Of Sinema


New public opinion research by a Phoenix firm has found that roughly a third of registered Republicans see one of Arizona’s top Democrats  Sen. Kyrsten Sinema  in a favorable light.
The polling comes as Sinema has focused on working with the GOP and thwarted calls from liberals to end the filibuster.
The research chief for OH Predictive Insights said if Sinema hopes to get re-elected in 2024, she’ll have to balance supporting the Democratic agenda, with keeping a significant number of Republicans and Independents on her side.
Marilyn Rodriguez, founder of the progressive advocacy and lobbying firm Creosote Partners, said Sinema has turned her back on the people who elected her, and what they want is for her to help President Biden pass the so-called Build back better plan.    ....

In Arizona, Democrats Are Backing Big Tech
A bill that would eliminate Apple and Google’s hefty fees on app developers has drawn unusual coalitions on both sides.

The app stores currently apply a 15 or 30 percent commission fee on apps that cost money or have in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Members of Arizona’s state House of Representatives questioned whether or not Apple was a monopoly last week, ahead of a critical floor vote. Others compared the Apple and Google smartphone app stores to a flea market. And one member applauded Apple’s initiative to control the content on its operating system. This was all in the debate over HB 2005, a bill that passed mostly along partisan lines that will, if made law, eliminate app store commission fees for developers on both the Google and Apple app stores. ....
