Water tested, boil orders for Sherman, Denison fully lifted Herald Democrat Cities across Texoma continued down the road to recovery this week following unprecedented winter storms and historic low temperatures that cut off utilities for many residents. Multiple cities across the region announced the full lifting of boil orders Tuesday and Wednesday following widespread damage to water sources across the state. Both Denison and Sherman fully lifted their boil orders. This comes as both cities partially lifted extensive boil orders earlier this week. The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use, the city of Denison said in a press release Tuesday night ....

Day three of the Dream 2021 conference brought joy and productive frustration. The joy came from David Treuer’s keynote. Treuer spoke of being Native American and the struggles for cultural memory in a larger country that tries to forget. His manner was thoughtful, humane and funny, and the way he spoke to the students during Q&A exemplified supportive teaching. Laurie Fladd, the moderator, used to work at Trident Technical Community College, which also made the switch. NWTC and Amarillo have already moved to the eight-week mo ....

GC Director of Marketing and Communications Rhea Bermel said the campus was still without water on Thursday afternoon. At the request of the Dean of Students, Facilities brought in port-at-potties for students living on campus, Bermel said in a text. Campus police delivered bottled water to the students and since they didn t lose power on the campus, Great Western Dining was able to get creative about providing food for the students including some pre packaged items. ....
Grayson College gets certified nurse aide test center Grayson College Grayson College’s Center for Workplace Learning is now an in-facility test center for the Nurse Aide Competency Exam administered by Prometric. In-facility test center approval from Prometric means that Grayson College’s Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) students can receive training and test for certification in the same location on Grayon’s main campus in Denison. “Grayson College has again met a need in service to its students and the Texoma community,” Workforce Solutions Executive Director Janie Bates said. “When the administration of CNA certification exams changed to Prometric in September 2020, the number of testing centers fell dramatically,” Director of Continuing Education at Grayson College Kate Corder explained. “Students were successfully completing our training program and employers wanted to hire them, but there was very limited availability at testing centers to get our ....
