The Authentic Marathon Swim is approaching and expects to gather participations of amateur and professional swimmers from Greece and abroad for the 2nd consecutive year, on July 2-4, 2021, at Pefki, Evia of the Municipality of Istiea-Edipsos.
The organization of the Authentic Marathon Swim last year, led the event to the top of the Tourism Awards with 5 awards in total. More specifically, it was distinguished with 2 Silver awards for the strategy implemented for the “Guest – Staff Protection” during the Covid-19 pandemic and its “Integrated Communications Campaign” while receiving 3 Bronze awards at the “Sports Tourism”, “Interconnection of tourism with other sectors of the Greek economy” and “Technology enhanced experience” categories for the technology solutions used to improve the travel experience. ....

The preparations for the Authentic Marathon Swim are currently underway, as organizers are getting ready to hold the historic event for the second consecutive year at Pefki in the Municipality of Istiaia–Edipsos on the Greek island of Evia.
Scheduled to take place during July 2-4, the Authentic Marathon Swim will be organized by the Municipality of Istiaia-Edipsos and held under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). ActiveMedia Group is responsible for its sports production. ....

GTP Headlines Covid-19 Lockdown Restrictions Extended for West Attica and Kozani

have been extended by one week, until December 30, the Greek General Secretariat for Civil Protection announced on Thursday.
The decision was taken due to the high coronavirus (Covid-19) infection rates that continue to appear in both areas.
The extension of restrictions in West Attica specifically concern the municipalities of Aspropyrgos, Elefsina and Mandra-Idilia.
In the regional unit of Kozani, high infection rates have been recorded in the municipalities of Kozani, Eordea, Voio, Servion and Velventou.
The additional safety restrictions in West Attica and Kozani include a strict curfew (non-essential movement is banned from 6pm until 5am) while all retail stores will remain closed, including those operating with the click-away method (phone or online orders). All religious services, except funerals, are also suspended. ....

GTP Headlines Greece Announces 7-day Quarantine for All Arrivals from the UK

All travelers arriving to Greece from the United Kingdom must self-isolate for 7 days
as of 6am on Monday, December 21, the Greek General Secretariat for Civil Protection said on Sunday.
The Greek Health Ministry’s committee of experts for Covid-19 will further evaluate the scientific data on Monday, the general secretariat added in its announcement.
The previously announced measure of a 3-day mandatory quarantine for arrivals to Greece from abroad still applies for arrivals from all other countries.
The new measure involving arrivals from the UK
is an addition to existing restrictions. All incoming travelers are still obliged to submit a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) and a negative Covid-19 test result (PCR) performed up to 72 hours before arrival in Greece. They must also take a mandatory rapid Covid-19 test upon entry. ....
