Dr. Craig Howard describes the journey that led him to become the Foundation’s newest Ministry Relations Officer, he says that it all began with his work as an insurance agent. Last month, Howard joined the Presbyterian Foundation as the Ministry Relations Officer serving the Central Region, which includes Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky. He lives in St. Louis. Once you learn his story, you can see the path he took from insurance to church life â even though itâs unconventional. ....
“It bothered me,” said Craig Howard, owner of Diablo Crossfit. He received a $1,000 fine last week from the county for allowing his gym members to work out indoors. Howard says all the fines from the county add up to almost $7,000. “I’m being fined for being open with a lesser amount of people in an environment that is likely much safer than what she was doing,” said Howard. The gym owner said the pandemic has turned him into a ventilation expert, going so far as installing CO2 monitors around his gym. “It doesn’t tell us whether there is virus present but what it tell us – how much air is re-breathed and how much fresh air you’re getting,” he said, adding he wishes the DA’s office would consider all the safety measures he’s put in place, instead of piling on to his stack of fines. ....
● Workforce size Council staff members are doing more research and analysis on estimates for short- and long-term savings options. Craig Howard, the deputy director of the council, said employee compensation costs make up 80% of all agency expenditures. The council was told last week that it could expect more information in the savings plan on how the COVID-19 hazard pay would change. Hazard pay is additional compensation given to employees who work directly with the public or have to work onsite, and have a greater risk of exposure to the coronavirus. The county has spent $77.7 million on hazard pay since Elrich negotiated with three unions for the agreements in early April. ....
