London s FTSE 100 inched lower in choppy trading on Tuesday, as a fall in aero stocks and industrial software company Aveva Group following its CEO s exit outweighed gains by BP after an upbeat earnings update.
The blue-chip index (.FTSE) fell 0.1%, with Aveva Group (AVV.L) slipping 5.7% to the bottom of index after its Chief Executive Officer Craig Hayman decided to quit. read more
Aero stocks (.FTNMX502010) also declined with Rolls-Royce (RR.L) being the second-biggest drag on the index. ....

Aveva CEO Craig Hayman steps down as revenue turns flat
British industrial software firm Aveva said on Tuesday its chief executive Craig Hayman had decided to quit.
The company announced that Peter Herweck would be seconded from its major shareholder Schneider Electric as his replacement from 1 May.
Its chairman, Jean-Pascal Tricoire, thanked Hayman for his contribution to the growth of the FTSE 100 firm.
“As a major shareholder, Schneider Electric would like to thank Craig for his contribution to the successful development of Aveva.
“We remain as committed as ever to Aveva’s independence and model of operation, and look forward to supporting Aveva’s continued value creation journey, especially through its merger with OSIsoft.” ....

LONDON (Reuters) -Aveva Group said on Tuesday its chief executive Craig Hayman had decided to quit and Peter Herweck would be seconded from its majority shareholder Schneider Electric as his replacement from May 1.
Hayman was leaving for personal reasons to return to the United States, the industrial software company said, as it also said year-on-year organic revenue for the year to end-March, would be flat.
Schneider Electric, which holds a 60% stake in Aveva after it merged its industrial software business with the UK company in 2018, said Hayman s departure did not signal any change in its strategy. ....
