View Comments Great Falls City Commissioners approved the 2021 Annual Action Plan, which outlines the funding priorities for federal monies received through Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), during this week s meeting. The plan’s priority goals are youth services and substance abuse services under the Public Service program category, according to Planning and Community Development Director Craig Raymond. Public Service is one of seven Goals and Objectives outlined in the 2020-2024 consolidated plan. The plan also identifies that both HOME funds and CDBG funds can be used to support affordable housing efforts, and that CDBG funds can be used for “slum and blight removal” in association with affordable housing projects for new affordable housing construction, Raymond said. ....

View Comments Fees for those who purchase annual parking permits are going to go from $2.50/month to a $4 annual fee, according to Planning and Community Development Director Craig Raymond. “Our vendor did not recognize that we offer incentives to our customers who pay for an entire year of parking permits up front,” Raymond said. “They get a heck of a deal, ends up being about 33 cents a month instead of $2.50.” This fee is in addition to the cost for the annual permit, which currently costs just over $400. View Comments Great Falls City Commissioners moved to approve Downtown Urban Renewal District tax increment financing (TIF) funds for construction surrounding the Newberry Event & Concert Hall on Central Avenue during their Tuesday night meeting. The commission approved Resolution 10398, which approved $9,100 in TIF funds for the purpose of paying for the construction of temporary sidewalk and reconstruction of a public sidewalk and curb along Central Avenue bordering the subject property at 420 Central Avenue.
