Mars Petcare has announced it will market the beta version of a new mobile app for tracking lost dogs.
Beta downloads for what is called NOSEiD will be mostly contained to the greater Nashville region and marketed via Mars brand Iams, according to a release from the Franklin-based company.
NOSEiD uses noseprint identification algorithms that interface with smartphone technology to help pet owners identify lost dogs by their noses in the same way humans are identified by fingerprints. The NOSEiD app offers an interactive map of lost dogs and a dog poster auto-generator.
