Mum of Pitsea's Craig Tyler launches mobile mental health unit


A DEVASTATED mum who tragically lost her son to suicide has today launched a mobile mental health unit to “give people a friendly face” of support.
Karen Pullen is on a mission to intervene and help with people in mental health crises as early as possible, with her mobile health support and suicide prevention unit.
The 44-year-old founded the Craig Tyler Trust in memory of her son who tragically took his own life in Pitsea on April 8, 2018 following a battle with his mental health.
Ms Pullen’s trust has been helping people with their mental health since 2018, taking on a surge of people who suffered during lockdowns due to Covid-19. ....

Listed: Mental health services in Basildon receiving £50k in grants


THE full list of mental health services receiving £50,000 in grants has been released.
In October last year, Basildon Council launched a mental health fund, and it has now selected and awarded more than £50,000 worth of grants to twelve organisations.
The one off grants of up to £5,000 were available to voluntary and community sector organisations to support mental health projects, training and professional development, improving organisational infrastructure, or supporting staff salaries and volunteer expenses.
One of the grant recipients are the Craig Tyler Trust, who with the funding will launch a mobile mental health support unit - allowing the trust to be present in different areas across the borough and be available to support a wider range of residents. ....

Mr Panrucker said he was inspired to set it up after attending a fellow fan’s funeral during the first wave of the pandemic and hearing about people who had lost jobs or been detrimentally affected by the pandemic.
It has helped more than a dozen people back into work, found housing for homeless veterans and given hundreds access to mental health services and support.
“I couldn’t believe how badly some people were struggling. We have a wonderful community fanbase and I thought it would be a good way of getting people together through the love of the club,” said Mr Panrucker, 48. ....

West Ham fans and former stars have united to help fellow supporters who have lost their jobs and are struggling from the Covid-19pandemic.
More than 6,000 people have joined the Hammers for work and support Facebook page, set up by fans to find jobs or talk about the strain the pandemic has placed on their lives.
The group has attracted endorsements from former players Tony Cottee and Carlton Cole, as well as famous fans including author Irvine Welsh, actor Perry Fenwick and TV presenter Ben Shephard. In his video message, Welsh says: “When I first came to London in my teens I was embraced by, not so much a bunch of football supporters, but a real community, people who looked after each other.   ....
