University of Pittsburgh Investment Chief Steps Down

Sponsored After nearly three years at the helm, the University of Pittsburgh’s chief investment officer is stepping down.   A spokesperson for the University of Pittsburgh did not return a phone call and email seeking details on Schuler’s next move or his successor. When Schuler joined in 2018, the school split the once-dual roles of treasurer and CIO into two. Amy Marsh, his predecessor who retired that year, had been in both positions since 2011. At the time, Paul Lawrence, who had been the school’s assistant treasurer since 1999, became the school’s treasurer.   Lawrence will now lead Pitt’s investment office until the school finds a replacement, according to the university.

Strategist Mike Stratton recalls meeting decades ago with Mondale, Colorado farmers at White House

When news broke Monday that former Vice President Walter Mondale had died, Democratic strategist Mike Stratton was reminded of the time Colorado farmers and the state s two U.S. senators met with Mondale at the White House nearly 44 years ago. The meeting took place in December 1977 in the Roosevelt Room to discuss the American Agriculture Movement and the nationwide farmer strike, recalled Stratton, who was 23 years old and attended as an aide to U.S. Sen. Floyd Haskell. Others in attendance were U.S. Sen. Gary Hart, Baca County farmers Greg Schuler and Bud Bitner and Prowers County farmer and rancher John Stulp, who later served as a county commissioner, state wildlife commissioner, Colorado’s commissioner of agriculture and state water policy adviser.

GSI Gets New Look | Standardbred Canada

Greg Schuler Interactive (GSI), the largest advertising agency serving the harness racing industry, has launched a redesigned website. According to Greg Schuler, who owns the company with his wife, Barbara, “it has to be about the sixth new look in our 11 years in business.” The site’s URL is gregschulerinteractive.com. GSI’s harness racing accounts include such heavyweights as Brittany Farms and Stallion Management, Preferred Equine Marketing and four of the industry’s largest sales companies: Lexington Selected, Standardbred, Tattersalls and the Ohio Jug Sale. Occasionally smaller breeding farms, along with stallion ownership groups and syndicates, are part of the mix.

File photo People will not be able to battle their brains to help Education Foundation of Muskogee this year. The Foundation s annual Trivia Night, held each January, joins other events canceled out of concern for the COVID-19 pandemic. It s very disheartening having to cancel the popular event this year, but the live event is not possible at all, said Foundation President Karra Wardour. We have researched online trivia challenges that other education foundations have sponsored this year and they just do not have the same effect as the real thing.
