Benefit Car Show for Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund Planned for August Written by Kerry Anne Ducey Registration is now open for the Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund 2021 Benefit Car Show, which will be on August 28, 2021, at Town Hall, 101 Field Point Rd., Greenwich, CT, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. (Rain date: August 29, 2021) Admission is free to spectators and will include classic, antique, custom, and exotic cars, motorcycles, vintage fire trucks, and military vehicles. The Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund invites car owners to sign up for early-bird pre-registration before August 26. Vehicles will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, as space is limited. The registration cost is $20 per vehicle. The Dish: Jersey Mike’s Subs in Riverside helps make wishes come true By Susie Costaregni Scene… The staff of the Jersey Mike’s Subs in Riverside and employees of PepsiCo raised over $25,000 for Make-A-Wish Connecticut by holding a “Day of Giving” event last Wednesday. On that day, 100 percent of all sales went to charity at sub shops nationwide. It was all part of the shop’s “Month of Giving” event. Brian O’Hagan, owner of Jersey Mike’s in Riverside, and Carl Kazmierczak, VP of PepsiCo sales, were on hand to make the local check presentation. The nonprofit Make-A-Wish Foundation helps fulfill the wishes of children with critical illnesses.

Celebrating the Greenwich Police Department’s 125th Anniversary Written by Sue Bodson The Town of Greenwich is proud to be celebrating the 125 th Anniversary of the Greenwich Police Department this year. Chief James Heavey and the Department are marking this milestone by welcoming the community and longtime partners, including local businesses, to partake in several events throughout 2021. The theme of the year will be “Honoring Our Past and Embracing Our Future,” with the funds raised to support the Greenwich Police Department’s Scholarship Fund, a non-profit 501 (c) (3), which grants financial assistance to the children of active Greenwich Police Officers, who qualify by ability and character, for undergraduate studies.
