Authorities charged 45-year-old Thomas Haynes months after Robert Moffett was shot several times and died at a local hospital. The shooting took place in a parking lot at the corner of Patton and Walnut in Springfield. You can read more with a press release below… On July 21, 2021, officers with the Springfield Police Department arrested Thomas Haynes, a 45-year-old male from Florida, for the Feb. 6, 2021 murder of Robert Moffett, 32, from Springfield. On July 22nd the case was presented to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office and Thomas Haynes was charged with 2nd Degree Murder. ....

Zyrian Atha-Arnett, who goes by the shorter last name Arnett, pleaded guilty also to separate charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence related to the Jan. 13, 2019, killing of his friend and former classmate. ....
