LISTENING TO FARMERS: Doris Mold wants Wisconsin farmers to contact her to share their farm transition stories as part of the Rural Resiliency Project funded by the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.
Wisconsin farmers are encouraged to share their stories of transitioning to a different way of farming or exiting farming.
If you are a Wisconsin farmer who has experienced a major transition on your farm, Doris Mold would like to talk to you. Maybe you have transitioned the farm to the next generation or decided to share milking facilities with another farmer. Or you sold your cows and are now crop farming and working at Fleet Farm or raising dairy beef. Or maybe you have moved to value-added production or made some other farm transition, including exiting farming completely. ....

Researchers in University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences and U of I Extension are working to ensure farmers and their families have access to resources and services they need to manage stress, anxiety and other mental health issues.
URBANA, Ill. — Even without the added stress of the COVID-19 pandemic, agricultural producers experience high levels of anxiety, depression, substance use and death by suicide.
